Description

I created this activity to help my Human Anatomy and Physiology students further their understanding about the physiological sequence of events that occur during muscle contraction and relaxation. In this two-page fill-in-the-blank worksheet, students map out the physiological sequence of events for a skeletal muscle contraction on page one. On the backside, they map out the sequence of physiological events that lead up to the relaxation of a skeletal muscle.

I provided a word bank on both sides. Students have to unscramble and find the correct placement for twenty-five terms in all. The terms include acetylcholine (x2), actin (x2), attachment, calcium (x2), contraction, end, impulse, impulses, ions, motor, neuromuscular, neurotransmitter, prevent, receptors, relaxes, released, reticulum, sarcolemma, sarcoplasmic, synaptic, T-tubules, and vesicles.

This PDF file will become editable upon conversion to Microsoft Word using an Adobe Acrobat Reader DC app. It includes a key with the answers in red font.
