Description
Students use the internet to simulate being a MARINE BIOLOGIST and study the BIODIVERSITY of an underwater ecosystem. The lab teaches students how to use a field reference guide to identify unknown species.
The lab uses the website http://warrensburg.k12.mo.us/coral/coral.html which I did not create. This lesson is a guide students can use to better understand the information present on the website.
A high interest, fun, hands on lab experience for students ranging from 6th-12th grade. Use as either an introduction or a review of the concept.
The experience has built in ENL and special education modifications to allow all learners access to the curriculum (developed with a co-teacher). The experience has been tested and implemented with well over 100 students to ensure quality.
Questions at the end of the lesson asses understanding.
