MATH ALGEBRA: Progressive approach to teaching algebra - from images to letters

This product has been designed to teach algebra to students across many grades. It uses simple image to number relationships to show children how images can also have a numerical value. Through using original clip art, we have put together 40 slides which start off from simple - one repeated picture which supports students identifying one numerical value, right through to algebraic sentences which use the rules of BODMAS (brackets, order, division, multiplication, addition and subtraction) as well as letters placed next to one another, outside of brackets and squared numbers.

This resource supports all elements of algebra from 1st Grade to 6th Grade. It supports students in working methodically through questions, finding common rules which can be applied to more than one question, through to solving a number of equations quickly, effectively and accurately.

We have produced our own original clip art makes each of the questions fun - and means that there is nothing like this available anywhere else with the art work used.

Our children progressed quickly through the slides to mastering the skills of algebra in a very short space of time, such is the structure of this resource. Children do not need any experience of algebra to complete this resource. It will support their development from the carefully constructed, progressive challenge of the questions.

As the questions turn to letter based algebra, handy hints are provided for both the class teacher and the students.

Following each slide, the same slide is repeated, revealing the answer keys for each question. This can therefore whole class teaching, independent self-checking exercises, or distance learning activities.

The preview demonstrates the quality of images, types of questions, complexity of the end slides and the way in which the product moves from introductory to mastery level from start to finish.
