Math Builder 2: Daily Math Problem Solving to Build and Embed skills in 3D shape

Welcome to Maths Builder "3D Shape". This resource is a series of PowerPoint slides designed to be used each day as a warm up activity to revise, embed and extend skills and concepts within maths.

This particular element of "3D Shape" focuses on how children can use and develop their knowledge of 3D shape in order to describe 3D shapes by using the language of shape (faces, edges, vertices, planes), identify 3D shapes when represented in a 2D form, and identifying 3D shapes by their nets. At each step, the children are expected to justify how they know the shape by using language and observations. For example, "I know it is the net of a cube as each of the six faces are squares, and they are laid out that when folded, will create a cube."

(For the 3D shape presentation, to avoid children learning the order of the slides, move them around day after day to keep the learning fresh.)
