Math Language Wall Posters, table cards and book marks

This resource has been designed for our classrooms to support children in their vocabulary knowledge of the four operations. We have found that whilst our children can remember and identify certain words within the four operations, they struggle to remember the more unusual words.

Therefore, we have produced these four posters (one each for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) to display on the classroom walls. They are bright, clear, concise and colour coded to support differentiation between each poster.

Not only that, but we have also used the same poster designs to create smaller table cards. These are smaller than the posters and include all four language posters on one card. This allows the children to have access to the vocabulary independently, without having to rely upon seeing the posters.

A further resource included is the book mark designs. Again, using the same design, same colours and same vocabulary, we have produced even smaller cards which can be used as book marks by the children within their math books. This means that the language is continually reinforced as the children refer to the cards to support their math language work. Some of our children have hole punched the cards and put them on their pencil case tags, others have taken copies home to be able to use at home.

We have found that these posters, table cards and book marks can be used in any age group as all children need to know this vocabulary to experience success in their learning.
