Description
Students use MICROSCOPES to explore mystery specimens. The lesson is designed to allow students to practice using microscopes to view slides. The mystery aspect increases student interest.
A high interest, fun, hands on lab experience for students ranging from 6th-12th grade. Use as either an introduction or a review of the concept.
The experience has built in ENL and special education modifications to allow all learners access to the curriculum (developed with a co-teacher). The experience has been tested and implemented with well over 100 students to ensure quality.
Lab station materials provided along with a student worksheet.
Questions at the end of the lesson asses understanding.
Additional supplies needed: 12 mystery pre-made slides (any slides that are on the easier side to see are good to use, examples: feather, computer chip, leaf, human tissue, dirt, makeup, insects, etc.), 12 compound light microscopes
