Description
In the second lesson of my Age of Exploration Unit, we introduce the 3 G's and why Europeans wanted to explore. We also examine other cultures that were trading at this time.
Bellwork: Why do people like to go away on vacation to places they’ve never been to? What are some reasons people travel? In the mid-1400s, powerful countries such as Portugal and Spain began to search for sea routes to Asia. What do you think they were looking for?
Instruction: Using the text, answer the scaffolding questions that follow.
Exit Ticket: What did the Middle East and Africa have that Europeans wanted? How might these wants affect the relationship between the African Empires and the Europeans?
