Description
Students will analyze 17 documents (7 are images), answer 17 historical context questions, complete a sorting chart, and write a DBQ essay to review Napoleon's time in power. There are 12 essay prompts for students choose from (one allows for the class or teacher to make one of their own). The answers are included where appropriate and the initial analysis part would be great for a sub. ***Some of the sourcing is a bit generalized so that students have to place it in the historical context/event themselves.***
Sample questions include:
--Describe the historical context of Document 1 and identify a key individual associated with it.
--Explain how Document 6 bridges the French Revolution and Napoleon’s reign.
--Describe the opposing points of view someone could have had of Napoleon based on Document 7.
--Does Document 8 demonstrate strength or weakness by Napoleon and why?
--What was the goal of Document 12?
--Explain the impact of Napoleon’s reign on Document 14.
