Operations With Decimals - Alberta Grade 7 Math

Operations With Decimals contains six lessons about decimals created to align with Section 3 of the Numbers Unit in the new Alberta Grade 7 math curriculum. Each lesson begins with instructions and examples to introduce new concepts. After that, the teacher can do a few practice questions with the class. At this point, students are ready to do questions on their own. Each lesson ends with an optional challenge question. An additional lesson about multiplying decimals using area models is part of this with a PowerPoint mini lesson and worksheet. Answer keys are included.

This resource includes five interactive digital mini lessons about adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals. A digital math game called “Sum Pairs” can be used as a warm-up activity or for review. Four optional digital math problems are included to promote problem solving. A quiz is also available for student assessment.
