Description
This listing features a two-page problem set about pressure in fluids in relation to Pascal’s Principle. There are five story problems in this worksheet. This activity is an essential component of curriculum for a unit about forces in fluids for a physical science course.
Students will calculate the gauge pressure of a fluid, the depth of a submerged object, the area of an input and output piston, the input force on a piston, and the output force on a piston.
This document will become editable upon conversion to Microsoft Word using an Adobe Acrobat Reader program.
I included an equation bank at the top of both student pages, which includes a breakdown of what each letter symbol used in the respective equation means. I parenthesized the letter symbols of the derived units in the equations next to the respective values in the story problems to assist students in setting up the proper equation. Students also have access to the constant values for gravity and the densities of water. I provided a two-page key with the answers in colored font.
This problem set is the second of a two-part series.
I also offer both problem sets as a bundled listing in my store for a 20% discount.
