Description
Students will learn about the events at Pearl Harbor and America's entry into WW2 with these 7 resources. They will get an overview of its causes (long term and short term) and will compare and contrast 3 points of view. The effects of the bombing of Pearl Harbor are covered with an analysis of the Doolittle Raid, a Japanese Internment webquest, and Korematsu v. US.
For the point of view resource, students will analyze 3 accounts from the point of view of an American soldier, a Japanese bomber, and the White House, answer 25 questions, and compare and contrast them. They will also complete an image analysis section on 5 images, create their own propaganda posters, complete a map, and read through a timeline to see how quickly it happened.
They will then analyze FDR's Day of Infamy speech by answering 10 questions and completing 3 creative tasks. The causes of Pearl Harbor webquest is 45 questions and 5 extension tasks and the events of Pearl Harbor webquest is 28 questions and image analysis from 2 websites and 2 videos of survivor interviews. The Doolittle Raid resource has students answer 10 questions and analyze 5 images. Lastly, will also work through a Japanese Internment webquest and analysis of Korematsu v. US.
