Pizza Pop Up!

This resource was developed to raise funds for a school trip. When asked what the children wanted to do to raise money for their trip, they moved away from the usual cake sale and stated that they wanted to make and sell pizzas.

The project begins with children making simple cheese and tomato pizzas - ensuring they make a traditional yeast and flour dough for the base. This allows the children to see science in action and links with the lessons in the plan.

The planning format is brief (one A4 sheet) and the resources are also included to accompany the sessions.

Session 1: Make Pizzas (hygiene, chemical changes, home economics)

Session 2: Sequencing images and writing instructions

Session 3: Value for money - researching ingredients at cheapest cost

Session 4: Evaluation of pizzas from session 1 - 9 questions including what worked well and reflection on team work
