Description
Students complete an interview activity to review LBJ's presidency. They first answer 6 history based questions, then they "interview" Johnson after becoming president (5 questions and answers), and then they conduct his last interview prior to his death (6 questions and answers). The last task is a bonus creative opportunity. The answers are included where appropriate and this would work for a sub!
Sample questions include:
--Explain why the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was a landmark legislation, but then still needed to be followed up by the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
--Describe what the moment from 5b signified for Americans at the time both domestically and in relation to the Cold War.
--Explain the connection between the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution and America’s Vietnam escalation.
--What do you think will be your biggest challenge in achieving your goals?
--What do you consider your greatest success?
--Do you have any regrets from your time in office?
--Given the opportunity, what piece of advice would you give to yourself prior to your inauguration to have made your time in the White House easier, or more productive?
