President William McKinley Interview Activity

Students complete an interview activity to review McKinley's presidency. They first answer 5 history based questions, then they "interview" President McKinley after his inauguration (5 questions and answers), and then they conduct his last interview prior to his death (5 questions and answers). The last task is a bonus creative opportunity. The answers are included where appropriate and this would work for a sub!

Sample questions include:
--Did McKinley support the annexation of Hawaii, why or why not?
--This is a campaign poster from 1900. What does it say about which types of Americans supported McKinley, which issues McKinley supported, and how it countered his opponent and his opponent’s platform?
--What is your ultimate goal as president?
--What do you think will be your biggest challenge in achieving your goals?
--What was your greatest success? What could you have accomplished if you lived out your 2nd term?
