Description
Students will analyze 20 documents, answer 20 historical context questions, complete a sorting chart, and write a DBQ essay to review either the social or political aspects of the Progressive Era. There are 12 essay prompts for students to choose from, including one allowing for the teacher or class to make one of their own. The answers are included where appropriate and the initial analysis part would be great for a sub! ***Some of the sourcing is generalized so that students have to place it in the historical context/event themselves.***
Sample questions include:
--Explain which aspect of Progressivism Document 2 is most related to.
--Explain the message of Document 5.
--Which amendment is Document 6 referring to and which earlier group advocated for it?
--Summarize Washington’s main point in Document 7.
--Re-write Document 10 in your own words to demonstrate understanding.
--Explain how Document 12 relates to a concern of Progressives.
--Citing evidence from the text would Bissell have support the 19th Amendment, why or why not?
--Inferring from the historical context and documents, what Supreme Court Case is Document 18 from and how does it relate to Document 17?
