Description
Students are asked to read primary document source material and excerpts from revolutionary writers like Patrick Henry and contemporaries. Students are introduced to basic rhetorical appeals of ethos, pathos, and logos and asked to analyze these and other basic rhetorical devices. Students are then asked to summatively present evidence in essay format from all writings. All materials to guide students through activities and learning via powerpoint as well as handouts and readings are included in both editable and PDF formats. This unit should take a few weeks of class time, depending on pacing. Units come in a zip file that will need to be extracted after download. All computers come with extraction programs.
