Role of Education Unit

Students are guided through reading and analysis of various texts from great thinkers on the role of education, students are asked to track the main ideas of each text both in formative assessment and in an overall tracking guide that then supports students to create a well thought out research essay using evidence from all texts to support their ideas. A bonus movie called Happy can be viewed and materials area also included for this. Writing is a huge focus of this unit and is focused on with many supporting documents and instructional materials. All materials to guide students through activities and learning via powerpoint as well as handouts and readings are included in both editable and PDF formats. This unit should take a full quarter of class time, depending on pacing. Units come in a zip file that will need to be extracted after download. All computers come with extraction programs.
