Description
This introductory two-page test is about the scientific method, experiment/study analysis and graphing for science. It features five sections.
-
In the first section, students classify whether the listed statements describe a problem identified to investigate, a hypothesis, an experiment in progress, or a conclusion.
-
In the second section, students evaluate and critique a flawed study with a series of short answer questions.
-
In the third section, students rank the order of the steps of the scientific method.
-
In section four, students brainstorm and list five criteria scientific studies/experiments need in order to make the results, many of which are commercial claims, believable.
-
In the last section, students identify the independent variable, dependent variable, and control group of a second study and graph the results that appear in a table.
