Description
This is a complete lesson plan, created by Dan Nguyen, that covers the main issues of the Scientific Revolution by having the students role-play as various scientists or Church officials during Galileo's trial.
This lesson includes a set-up powerpoint, articles to give to each student to help them prepare their presentations about each character, and a chart with an answers powerpoint so that students will also have a set of notes to have over the material.
During this lesson, students will role-play as Galileo Galilee, Copernicus, Johannes Kepler. Francis Bacon, Isaac Newton and others. Each article covers the main contributions of these historical figures and how they all helped lead to the Scientific Revolution's impact on how we acquired knowledge.
The main focus is the shift from relying on authority to the development of the scientific method.
