Description

This is a movie guide for the 1941 movie titled Sergeant York. This movie can be purchased on Amazon or viewed on YouTube. This movie is 2 hours and 14 minutes long.

Plot summary on IMDB: "Somewhat fictionalized account of the life and war service of Alvin York, who went from humble beginnings to being one of the most celebrated American servicemen to fight in World War I. As depicted in the film, Alvin turned to religion when he was struck by lightning during one of his drunken outings. Alvin took his newfound religion seriously claiming to be a conscientious objector when receiving his draft notice. When that was refused, he joined the infantry where he served with valor, capturing a large number of Germans and saving the lives of many of his men who were under heavy fire."

This is an excellent edition for your history unit on World War I! I personally like to show this movie in my US History class since there are not a lot of WWI movies from an American perspective. This also makes an easy, zero-prep back-up Sub Lesson Plan! On other sites, this resource would cost you $1.99, but as a special THANK YOU to our Amped Up Learning community, you are getting the discounted price here!

What's included in this purchase? ⇣⇣⇣⇣⇣

  • 20 comprehension questions for students to complete while watching the movie
  • A short-answer reflection question at the end for students to complete

  • Available in US and A4 paper sizes
  • Word and PDF options available

The best yet, this movie guide is EDITABLE so you can alter or change the questions to best fit your students and classroom needs.

Happy teaching! :)
