Description
This resource has been put together to support children in their understanding of the main characters in the 11 comedy plays of William Shakespeare.
Each play has its' own Word Search with the key characters included. We have found that when the children use this quick activity (each Word Search lasts for approximately 30 - 45 minutes) the children are learning the following:
- Pronunciation of the name
- Who the character is within the play as they are discussing who the character is
- Spelling of the character name
- Developing a better knowledge of who is in the play
- Relationships between characters.
These skills can be developed when the activity links with classroom work on a specific play.
The eleven plays included are:
- All's Well that Ends Well
- The Comedy of Errors
- As You Like It
- Cymbeline
- Loves Labours Lost
- Measure for Measure
- Sir Thomas More
- Merchant of Venice
- A Midsummer Nights Dream
- Twelfth Night
- Two Gentlemen of Verona
Once purchased and downloaded, each Word Search has been produced twice. The first copy is a straight forward resource to simply copy and give to the children. The second copy includes the answers so that assessment is quick and easy.
The title of the play is clearly labelled on each Word Search along with a character list of names to find.
These Word Searches can support Literacy Centers, home learning activities, early morning activities or a quick warm up for the Literacy session.
These will all become available to purchase separately shortly, but this bundle of 11 word searches gives you all the Comedies in one go - at a much cheaper cost.
