Description

Students will brainstorm a problem, decide on solutions, brainstorm with a partner on how to approach, plan, and improve on a solution. Students will then theorize and plan their audience, costs, expenses, project revenue, and create a Shark Tank style business entrepreneurship pitch in front of the class, who rotate as inverters in the front row, to present and practice all of their Economics knowledge gained in class. Blank checks, rubric, and instructions included. Modifiable document.

I like that this resource allows students to see what the process is for creating something new by considering the audience, potential number of buyers, etc. Very fun!

This is a nice way to incorporate a popular show. It's also great to have them talk to classmates and work on problem solving!

Well organized, collaborative outline that gives students clear direction but still allows freedom to explore and think outside of the box.

    Shark Tank Brainstorming Project

Posted by Amber DeLong on Jun 22nd 2020

I loved that instead of just telling students to brainstorm with a partner there were specific questions students are supposed to ask each other. This is a very nice project. It also included rubrics and a form for students to fill out when evaluating other students.

    fun but rigorous project

Posted by Leann Pracht on Jun 21st 2020

This resource carefully leads students through each step to comprehensively consider all the economic issues involved in entrepreneurship. The fact that it’s based on Shark Tank makes it really fun and engaging for the students…such an effective use of pop culture in the classroom!
