Description

This activity involves the use of vinegar solutions of different concentrations, hydrion paper or a pH meter, radish seeds and readily obtainable laboratory materials to simulate the effect of acid rain on seed germination. Students will be required to collect and graph data and then analyze the results of the experiment including its strengths. weaknesses and how to make the results more valid through a series of nine conclusion questions. This activity has been coded to the pertinent NGSS learning standard which is listed on page one of the activity. An answer key to the conclusion questions is included. This investigation involves using one lab period and then part of a second period for data collection.
