Included in this package is 5 sets of solfege rhythms:
DRMFSLTD
DMSD
MSL
DMSL
DRMSL
Simply print, cut strips, and glue (or modge podge) the strips to popsickle sticks. Students love fun manipulatives and imaginative play. You can use these sticks to imitate "texting" the melodies you sing in class.
These solfege sticks are a fun manipulative in the music classroom. They can be used several ways:
- As a warm up, put a melody on the board and ask students to echo the melodic pattern by “texting” the solfege on their sticks.
- You can also practice sight reading. The sticks offer a visual aid for students to see if a note sounds higher or lower.
- Test student knowledge of solfege hand signs. Make a solfege hand sign and have students “text” the solfege to you!
There are 2 copies of the strips included in this package; one copy in Color & one copy in Black & White.
*You can easily use the Black & White how it is OR have students (or YOU) color them, if you don't have access to a color printer!
