Description

ELEMENTARY SPANISH NUMBERS 0-31 TASK CARDS GREAT FOR BEGINNER MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL SPANISH TOO  Task cards really do help to create a lively language learning environment - they're really popular with my students. They can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their knowledge of Spanish numbers in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, working independently. The cards have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They’re great for helping students familiarize themselves with, and develop competence in, speaking, reading, writing and spelling numbers in Spanish. The cards are useful not only when we're focusing on Spanish Numbers 0-31, but also as an all-year-round starter, plenary and general ‘pick-me-up’ activity, as the goal is not simply to learn how to count in Spanish, but also to enjoy working with Spanish, and to feel confident about doing so. The questions range in complexity and challenge, and are great for honing numeracy skills too - especially if calculators are not allowed! The question card template enables students to apply their knowledge of language and arithmetic creatively and practically too - my students really enjoy creating questions for each other! Some questions are in English, and some in Spanish, to ensure challenge, and to provide learners with an opportunity to apply their developing knowledge of Spanish, and to infer meaning from context.

There are 3 non-editable files in a zipped format:

Set of 36 task cards, 4 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper. Print, laminate and cut out. Depending on how long you want the activity to last for, choose a particular number of cards per small group of students, and place them in a tin, bowl or small box so that students can easily select a card, and then replace at the end of the activity. You can simply place all the cards in the bowl/box and let students work their way through, either in a single lesson, or across a series of lessons - often we just use our jotting notebooks, rather than a recording sheet The question card template is in this file too

2-page answer recording sheet. Best printed double-sided to save paper.

2-page answer key, again best printed double-sided, and laminated for longevity. One answer key for each small group is sufficient.

I've uploaded a simple reference sheet my beginner students use, which you can download for free here:
