Description
Students will learn about the rise and fall of Spartacus and his rebellion against enslavement in Ancient Rome by watching a 5 minute video and answering 22 questions. They will then complete a creative task. The video is from TedEd and the answers are included where appropriate.
Sample questions include:
--How did the wife interpret the omen of the snake?
--What was a lanista?
--Summarize the oath new recruits were forced to swear.
--Why didn’t the Senate react quickly to news of Spartacus’ actions?
--Identify a benefit and a challenge to having so many people with him.
--Even though Crassus was the ultimate victor, why has Spartacus’ name been remembered thousands of years later?
