Description
As students learn about altered states of consciousness, this lesson will allow them to experience what that really feels like. For many students this will be the closest they have ever come to true meditation. You will walk them through a systematic body scan relaxation activity, then read them the guided visualization script. This is a common script I used with my classes and my own kids, but I also vary the script in many ways each time.
This resource includes lesson plan with learning targets and essential questions, a mini-lesson on the biology behind meditation and hypnosis, directions for the body scan, and a script for the guided visualization. It also includes a summative written reflection for the students.
