Description
Statistics contains five lessons created to teach statistics at the Grade 5-6 level. Each lesson begins with instructions and examples to introduce new concepts. After that, the teacher does a few practice questions with the class. At this point, students are ready to do questions on their own. Each lesson ends with an optional challenge question. Answer keys are included.
This resource also includes a PowerPoint mini lesson “Mean and Mode” to introduce these concepts. In addition, there is a digital math game, which can be used as a warm-up activity or for review.
At the end of the unit, students will do a survey project where they implement things they learned in the unit. They will create their own survey question, conduct a survey, organize and analyze their data, and display their results on a bar graph.
A quiz to assess student learning is included at the end of the unit.
