Description
Your goal: Write an amendment to the Constitution that your classmates would also approve.
Then, add one tick for your vote (yes, or no), box, on every proposed amendment of your classmates. Grading: You get 2 points for a thoughtful, specific amendment.
Extra: If anyone gets ⅔ of the class (Congress) to vote yes, +1 pt extra credit.
FYI, this is how every amendment but one has passed, ⅔ of Congress members and ¾ of states.
This sheet has 34 places for students to write their amendments, pass, and vote. Require students to produce a speech to support and persuade their classmates, up to a one page essay with citations, to fit your class needs, or your own requirements.
