Robin's Nest
I am a retired elementary school teacher with 30 years of experience in the classroom. During my time as an educator, I taught a variety of grade levels and subjects--with second, third, and fourth grade being my most happy of places! Through my years of teaching, as well as time spent raising two sons, I know that hands-on learning is the key to making kids into enthusiastic, life-long learners. Active student engagement, throwing in a good dose of humor, and focusing on thematic teaching are truly part of "the magic recipe" for transforming children from "ho hum" learners into students who are bursting with excitement to get to school each day! Integrating the arts across the curriculum into learning also helps ensure that all children are kept motivated and involved while they learn new skills and concepts. One of our goals as educators should be to develop children into life-long learners
