Description

Students will read and analyze excerpts from the Articles of Confederation by answering 32 questions, completing a creative task, and determining which of 5 scenarios are true or false according to the powers granted under the Articles. They will also write two of their own such scenarios. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!

 Sample questions include:
--Rewrite Article 2 in your own words to demonstrate understanding.
--According to the Articles, who was not able to enjoy the privileges of free citizens?
--Using context clues, explain the meaning of “ingress and regress to and from.”
--What power did the States hold over their delegates? Why might that have been included in the document?
--Identify the limitation on powers imposed on States in Article 6. Provide an argument for and against that limitation.
--Where does Article 6 clearly distinguish the United States from Britain?
--On what grounds could a State engage in war without Congress’ consent first?
--What would happen if a decision needed to be made but the members of Congress were not in session?
