Students will learn about the Berlin Wall (its causes, construction, course, and effects) and the reasons for the division of Berlin and Germany by watching this 6 minute TedEd video, answering 27 questions, and completing an extension task. The answers are included where appropriate. 

Sample questions include:
--Explain the meaning of the quote at the start of the video.
--In what way(s) was the open border in Berlin a problem for the Soviets and East German government?
--Compare and contrast two of the main differences in living in West and East Berlin, or West and East Germany.
--By 1965, how had the wall changed and what was the impact of that change?
--Explain how slowly allowing family visits wasn’t actually a mark of goodwill.
--Why do parts of the wall still stand today?
