Audience interaction

When a bullying episode takes place usually there are more than the bully and the target involved. There are also bystander(s) who see or hear the bully(s) attacking a target, but also there are those who hear from a witness that there is bullying taking place. The role of the bystander(s) is often intricate or complicated. A bystander(s) can contribute to resolving the bullying or can escalate, permit, agree with, or be indifferent to the bullying. The bystander(s) may be unaware or powerless to intervene or may choose to join in on the attack. All potentially have major effects on the survival of the target in a toxic, demeaning and dangerous environment.
