Description
Students will learn about the causes, course, effects, and significance of the Cambodian Genocide under the Khmer Rouge by watching a 6 minute TedEd video and answering 27 questions. The answers are included where appropriate.
Sample questions include:
--Explain the connection between the Vietnam War and Cambodia’s political instability.
--Identify the Khmer Rouge’s vision for Cambodia.
--Who were the first victims of the Khmer Rouge?
--Why did the Khmer Rouge leadership believe that internal sabotage was at play?
--Did the change in government leadership bring peace and stability to Cambodia, why or why not?
--Can Cambodians be clearly separated into victim and oppressor groups, why or why not?
