Description

Students will read an account of the Crusades, answer 16 questions, and complete 5 creative tasks. The tasks include creating an emblem for their banner, discussing how a town crier could motivate them to join up, designing a museum exhibit, and more! An answer key is included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!

 Sample questions include:
--The Turks naturally wouldn't have seen themselves as infidels. Describe what their point of view would have been on ransacking Jerusalem.
--Who called for the Crusades to begin?
--What were 2 problems the Crusades/crusaders faced? How would that have affected their ability to accomplish their goals?
--In this context, what does “adore” mean?
--The siege is described as taking place in a "wonderful manner." List 3 characteristics of such a siege.
--How did the Saracens use the Christians' lack of water to their advantage?
