Description
Students will learn about the people, battles, locations, causes, effects, and more from the French and Indian War by completing a 17 question webquest from MountVernon.org and answering 23 questions about a 6 and a half minute PBS video.
The answers are included where appropriate so these could work with a sub.
Sample questions include:
--Identify what the world’s first global war was, when, and between whom.
--Explain how the Ohio Valley finally came under British control.
--Can 1759 be considered a turning point in this war, why or why not?
--Why do you think the video was titled, “The Shot Heard Round the World?”
--Despite Washington’s early losses, why was this a good experience for him?
--Why did the French rely more on their Native American allies than the British?
--Why did Cuba change hands multiple times during the end of the war and in the terms of the Treaty of Paris?
--Summarize the role of Virginia’s House of Burgesses in the causes of the French and Indian War.
