The Great Gatsby Unit

Students are introduced to Gatsby and the Depression Era and asked to read and analyze literary elements in Gatsby using evidence. Students perform some assessments throughout reading, but the summative assessment is an essay in which students apply all knowledge and skills practiced during reading. Comparison to the modern film is included. All materials to guide students through activities and learning via powerpoint as well as handouts and readings are included in both editable and PDF formats. This unit should take a few weeks of class time, depending on pacing. Units come in a zip file that will need to be extracted after download. All computers come with extraction programs.
