Description

We’re off to visit the right atrium; in the wonderful heart afar! This full-page worksheet will help human anatomy and physiology students visualize and learn the systemic pathway blood takes back to the heart in 27 merging veins. It’s the students’ mission to map the flow of deoxygenated blood from various distal and proximal points in the body back to the heart. The starting points include the anterior and posterior regions in the head, the fingers, the thorax, the pelvis, and several junctures in the abdomen and the ankle.

This activity includes a vein word bank on page three, which consists of the following veins – anterior tibial, axillary, azygos, basilic, brachial, brachiocephalic, cephalic, common iliac, digital, external iliac, external jugular, femoral, great saphenous, hepatic, inferior vena cava, internal iliac, internal jugular, lumbar, palmar venous arches, popliteal, portal, posterior tibial, radial, renal, subclavian, superior vena cava and ulnar.

I provided teachers with a full-page key with the answers in a bold, blue-enhanced font. This activity will become editable upon conversion to Microsoft Word using an Adobe Acrobat DC Reader app.
