The Impact of the Crusades Review and Map Activity

Students will read a brief overview of the lead up to the Crusades and determine if 6 statements refer to Europe or the Middle East before the Crusades. They will then read an overview of the impact of the Crusades and complete a matching activity to reflect the changes in Europe due to the Crusades. There are 7 questions for students to answer, (one refers to two brief eyewitness accounts), and lastly they will complete a 12 task map activity. An answer key is included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!

Sample questions include:
--Explain the significance of the promise of absolution for Christian crusaders.
--Why did the Crusades have a greater impact on Europeans than those in the Middle East?
--Identify and explain an effect of the Crusades on current events.
