Students will watch and analyze a 3 and a half minute video about Thomas Jefferson, the Louisiana Purchase, and its constitutionality by answering 17 questions and completing an extension task. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub! The video is from TedEd.
Sample questions include:
--Why didn’t Jefferson support the Constitution as it was presented in 1787?
--Who did France get the Louisiana Territory from?
--Explain the connection between Jefferson being a strict constructionist and the land purchase aims.
--How did Jefferson ultimately defend, or justify, the purchase?
