The Odyssey and Epic Mythology Unit

Students are introduced to epic mythology elements, guided through reading and analysis of excerpts from the Odyssey, asked to perform some analytical assessments using evidence, compare the story to O Brother Where Art There utilizing all literary elements practiced, and finally study and write personal narratives in the vein of epic mythology. All materials to guide students through activities and learning via powerpoint as well as handouts and readings are included in both editable and PDF formats. This unit should take multiple weeks of class time, depending on pacing. Units come in a zip file that will need to be extracted after download. All computers come with extraction programs.
