The Partition of India Activity Video Guide Analysis

Students will watch and analyze an almost 6 minute video on the partition of India and the people, events, causes, and effects related to the creation of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Kashmir by answering 24 questions and completing 2 extension tasks.

The answers are included where appropriate and the video is from TedEd. 

Sample questions include:
--Inferring from prior knowledge, explain the meaning of Nehru’s quote.
--What was the subcontinent a patchwork of prior to Britain’s arrival?
--How did British categorize Indians and why was that problematic?
--How was the answer to number 8 politically restricting?
--What was Jinnah’s vision for independence and why?
--In what ways did this create longer term problems and conflicts?
