The Partition of India Mini Lesson

This mini lesson on the partition of India and the creation of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Kashmir is a short 16 slide overview power point with background information, discussion questions, and activities built in. Students get an overview of India under Britain, the cry for independence, how independence came about, and the challenges faced after independence. There are 5 questions through the slides, 3 big discussion topics on a slide titled "Discussion and Activities" and then a comprehension assignment. The discussions and activities can be completed in pairs prior to being discussed as a whole class. The file has been uploaded as a PowerPoint and PDF for your convenience.
