The Rise and Fall of Ancient Kush Activity Video Guide Analysis

Students will watch and analyze a 4 minute video about the rise and fall of Ancient Kush (Kingdom of Kush, Kushites) by answering 20 questions and completing 2 creative tasks. The answers are included where appropriate and the video is from TedEd.

Sample questions include:
--How was Kush ruled?
--Summarize the role of gold mines in Kush.
--In what way(s) was this a high point for Kush as an empire?
--What happened in 31 B.C.E that set Kush apart from many of its contemporaries?
--Explain the significance of burying the head of the statue of Augustus.
--Why might they have moved their capital south and built cities further south?
--What will help us learn significantly more about Kush and its people?
