The Rise and Fall of the Assyrian Empire Activity Video Guide Analysis

Students will watch and analyze a 5 minute video about the rise and fall of Assyria and its historical significance by answering 24 questions and completing a creative task. The answers are included where appropriate and the video is from TedEd. 

Sample questions include:
--What do historians consider Assyria?
--Identify 3 modern day countries that were part of the Assyrian Empire.
--Why did the Assyrians lose much of their territory in the 12th century B.C.E.?
--How did it gain territory back?
--How did Assyria keep its empire connected?
--Why didn’t Assyria suppress and destroy Babylonian advancements and knowledge?
--Which key literary work are we able to read today, and why, despite the answer to question 18?
