The Rise and Fall of the Mongol Empire Activity Video Guide

Students will watch and analyze a 5 minute video about the rise and fall of the Mongolian Empire and a bit of its historical significance by answering 21 questions and completing an extension task. The answers are included where appropriate. The video is from TedEd.

Sample questions include: 
--Inferring from prior knowledge, what was unique about the extent of the Mongol Empire compared to those that preceded it?
--Did Mongol clans live in peace, why or why not?
--Can 1206 be considered a turning point in Mongol history, why or why not?
--In what way did the Mongols ensure the preservation and spread of knowledge?
--Why was a peaceful transfer of power not guaranteed? What did that result in?
