The Things They Carried Unit

Students are guided through reading and analysis of literary elements for the novel using evidence. Corollary texts are included to compare and augment the literature, as well as an analysis of the song Lemon Tree, as it is highlighted in the text. A summative expository essay asks students to synthesize all texts and analyses. All materials to guide students through activities and learning via powerpoint as well as handouts and readings are included in both editable and PDF formats. This unit should take a few weeks of class time, depending on pacing. Units come in a zip file that will need to be extracted after download. All computers come with extraction programs.
