The Treaty of Kadesh Primary Source Analysis Activity

Students will read and analyze excerpts from the Egyptian-Hittite Peace Treaty (the Treaty of Kadesh) by answering 13 questions and completing a creative task. This includes one paragraph of historical context and background information. 

The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub! 

Sample questions include:
--Why was the original treaty written in Akkadian?
--How does the text support your answer to question 3?
--What type of person is the topic of the second to last paragraph?
--Explain the significance of the last paragraph.
--As this is just an excerpt of the treaty, what are two other items you think might have been included in the full version and why?
