The Tudors (STEM)- Tudor Buildings/Globe Theatre (Shakespeare)

This resource includes a full topic of 6 lesson plans and photocopiable resources - designed to last for approximately 12 hours) to take the children on a journey through influential Tudor buildings.

Plans include YouTube links to specific historical programmes to support visualising influential Tudor buildings in England. Reference is clearly made within the plans when to use video (and links) and when to use the resources to support embedding research and learning.

The lessons contents include:

1) Watch National Heritage video and identify at least 8 influential Tudor Buildings - ensuring that the Globe Theatre is one of those buildings.

2) Collect information about 8 chosen Tudor Buildings and use the Goal Resource Grid to collect and compare the data. (Resource included)

3) Create Top Trump cards for each of the buildings, beginning to learn the features, size, year built, influential history etc of the buildings. (Resource included)

4) Research, using online resources, non-fiction sources from the classroom, The Globe Theatre. (Resource included)

5) Using a range of published YouTube videos identified within the planning, how to use their research to create their own Globe Theatre model. Collect ideas, develop skills in focused practical activities and make plans for developing own 3D build.

6) Make own 3D Globe Theatre model.
