The Word for World is Forest Unit

Students are guided through reading and analysis of literary elements for each chapter of the novel, participate in discussions using evidence from the text, and are asked to research and then write about a corollary from our world and society as it relates to ideas and themes of the novel. All materials to guide students through activities and learning via powerpoint as well as handouts and readings are included in both editable and PDF formats. This unit should take a few weeks of class time, depending on pacing. Units come in a zip file that will need to be extracted after download. All computers come with extraction programs.
